VC Skills
Portsmouth Housing Association’s community regeneration team (CREATE) has completed the VC Skills project, aimed at increasing awareness of Skills for Life needs within voluntary and community (VC) sector organisations in the region. Voluntary and Community Sector Skills was a two year project between 2006-7, funded by the European Social Fund through the Government Office of the South East with match funding from Learndirect. It provided a range of accredited courses for VCS staff from awareness raising to embedded literacy, numeracy and ESOL courses. Over the life of the project 50 community and voluntary organisations were involved, training over 200 individuals.

If you would like to know more, follow the links provided for a copy of our last newsletter, a powerpoint presentation showing why Skills for Life awareness and training in the voluntary and community sector is important and the detailed evaluation report for the project.
