The Roberts Centre

The EC Roberts Centre is located in the city centre in Crasswell Street. A registered charity dedicated to supporting families who are striving to improve their disadvantaged circumstances, whether caused through homelessness or relationship difficulties. This year the organisation celebrates 15 years of serving families in Portsmouth.

The centre employs 40 staff delivering the following services:

  • The Supported Housing Scheme - a trial tenancy (PCC partnership) scheme for families who are assessed at being at risk of failing in a tenancy without support.
  • Intensive Supported Housing - (PCC partnership) a higher level of support for those who require more assistance.
  • Temporary Accommodation Service - (PCC Partnership) ECRC manages city council properties offering accommodation for those families who present to PCC as homeless.
  • Resettlement support for families in Temporary Accommodation - assistance in areas relating to moving into next property.
  • Family Tenancy Support - ECRC provides tenancy/accommodation support to families identified by Portsmouth Housing Association and other housing providers and tenures. The families benefit from structured targeted support to assist them to acquire the skills to maintain their tenancies.
  • Portsmouth Child Contact Centre - offers a neutral, safe, child focused environment for children to have Supported Contact with non-resident parents, grandparents or siblings.
  • Supervised Child Contact - provides closely supervised, individual family contact sessions.
  • Contact Support Worker - (funded by the Children's Fund) offering parents the opportunity for support and guidance in relating to the child they are having contact with.
  • Roberts Day Nursery - is a Neighbourhood Nursery offering 44 places for children from birth to 5 years. The staff provide advice, training and information for parents.
